Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative to Host Fifth Annual Net Zero Conference: vFairs Serves for Second Year as Event Technology Partner

The conference will discuss climate change impacts, solutions and opportunities for regional and local climate action in the Cape Cod & Islands region of Massachusetts (U.S.A).

Cape Cod, MA  The Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative will host Net Zero 2022: Tackling Climate Change on the Cape & Islands (“NZ-22”), on October 28, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM (ET/USA). This year’s conference theme, “Bringing it Home,” is especially relevant to the unique challenges faced by Cape Cod and the Islands, and offers insights into growing offshore wind opportunities, eco-conscious building efficiency and weatherization resources, and local community action to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Citizens concerned about the climate crisis and interested in learning about impacts, opportunities and actions that can be taken on regional, local and individual levels are invited to register here.

The NZ-22 conference program features a distinguished array of speakers from across the globe, nation and region. Keynote speakers include climate and energy experts such as:

  • Søren Hermansen, Director of Samsø Energy Academy in Denmark,
  • Dr. David Cash, Region 1 Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and
  • Joe Curtatone, President of the New England Clean Energy Council.

Panelists, presenters, and moderators represent diverse sectors including the offshore wind industry, building and energy efficiency, and climate action planning. Climate Collaborative President Dorothy Savarese and Executive Director Rich Delaney will open and close the conference.

“Federal, state, and regional resources are critical to addressing climate change, but it’s at the local level where ‘the rubber truly meets the road.’ This year’s theme — Bringing It Home — addresses the myriad ways our region and communities can seize emerging opportunities to combat the climate crisis,” said  Savarese.

“vFairs has always been vocal about its belief in climate change action at an individual level. We are trying to build a sustainable world by promoting virtual events through our Green & Global campaign. I am glad that our principles align with the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative,” said Muhammad Younas, CEO of vFairs.

More than 3,000 individuals have attended past Net Zero conferences from across the Cape & Islands region, state and country. Audience members include policy makers, planners, renewable energy providers, homeowners, renters, builders, energy efficiency experts, service providers, faith community members, and climate activists. Interested attendees may register for this year’s conference here. The virtual conference is free thanks to the generosity of its many sponsors.
