Silver Spring, MD – The US Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) announces the CDRH Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Immersion Day, scheduled for November 20, 2024. This virtual event invites upper class undergraduate and graduate students MSIs to explore STEM fields with CDRH experts. Students are encouraged to register for this unique opportunity to gain insights into STEM careers in CDRH.
The event is tailored for students from MSIs, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). Participants will engage with CDRH professionals, learn about the work of FDA, specifically CDRH, and explore potential career paths in STEM. The event is designed to provide students with valuable industry knowledge and guidance on becoming viable candidates for employment within CDRH.
Muhammad Younas, CEO of vFairs, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the event stating, “We are excited to collaborate with the FDA on this groundbreaking event. Our platform is designed to offer an engaging and accessible virtual experience, ensuring that all participants can connect with leading experts and resources. This event provides a unique opportunity for students from Minority Serving Institutions to explore the vast possibilities in STEM, and we’re honored to play a role in empowering the next generation of innovators.”
What makes CDRH MSI STEM Immersion Day stand out is its focus on underrepresented students in STEM and its fully virtual format. This event will provide students with direct access to CDRH staff and offer them a deeper understanding of the CDRH’s role in advancing public health and medical device regulation.
